STEM Education Programs

Science Foundation Arizona (SFAz) has funded 19 STEM programs awarded through a competitive peer-reviewed process to meet the highest standards of quality, innovation and probability of making a demonstrable impact.  To date, SFAz has invested $36.9 million in education, impacting 5,500 teachers and more than 240,000 students in Arizona.

These programs stimulate hands-on, innovative and imaginative science, technology, engineering, mathematics teaching and learning to bring the excitement of discovery back to the classroom.

STEM education investments include both teacher and student programs:

 

Teacher

The teacher programs provide research, internship and professional development opportunities for mathematics, science and Career & Technical Education (CTE) teachers to build content knowledge and bring new techniques & approaches that translate to the classroom. Read More

The student programs broaden participation in scientific discovery, relevant and rigorous mathematics and hands-on exploration. More than 240,000 students have been impacted directly and indirectly, many of which are from rural and underrepresented communities.  Read More
