UA Arizona Science Teacher Advancement and Research Training program produces a disproportionately large impact on rural and inner-city school districts in STEM by strengthening university, industry, community college and school district partnerships.

Toward a World-Class Teacher Workforce for Arizona Schools: This ASU program has provided over 100 high school teachers with cutting edge research experiences they bring back into their classrooms through activities and programs developed with faculty research mentors.

BITS throught Astronomy is a K-12 informal STEM education program that prepares Arizona students for science careers and provides improved science literacy for others by preparing their teachers through technology of data acquisition and optical image processing.

NAU multi-disciplinary undergraduate research program provides more and better research experiences directed at strengthening teacher preparation in STEM education and sustainability.

Biotechnology Academy created at Mesa High School and Arizona State University, and Mesa Community College, strengthens Arizona science education through introduction of interdisciplinary, hands-on learning and problem solving.

This project addresses the issue of improving STEM education by creating extensive, highly participatory, authentic research experiences.

This program supports middle and high school STEM teacher needs in the critical first five years of classroom teaching. The centerpiece of the model is a three-year plan that includes a high-paying professional internship with an Arizona industrial partner/leader each summer, effectively bringing real world experience into classrooms during the school year.

The program extends teacher best practices through peer leadership and quality teaching partnership while integrating math and science across the curriculum along with hands-on experiences.
