RFP for Strategic Research Group
In 2008, Science Foundation Arizona will invest in Strategic Research Groups (SRG) awards to facilitate the collaboration of outstanding researchers at Arizona’s Research Performing Institutions (RPIs) with industry in order to cultivate strong partnerships that will inform and enhance the State’s existing research programs, help attract and retain new industry research to Arizona, and create both research and economic advantages for the partners and consequently, for Arizona.
This 2008 SRG competition will invest up to $10M in each strategically important Research Partnership (up to $2M per year for 4 years seed funding for research partnerships and up to $2M for recruitment and startup package for the Director). The proposals must come from the lead Research Performing Institution (RPI) and must include the signature of the lead industry partner on the cover sheet. Each RPI may submit up to three proposals in each of the SFAz strategic areas: Sustainability (SUS), Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Biosciences (BIO).
